Isn’t it a little paradoxical that my last post was about an absent friend when I was being a little absent myself?
It’s a little cyclical with me. I’ve been blogging for over three years and it’s become an online presence that I won’t give up. I’ve never really found my own style though and have [...]

Some newness
Easter Monday
A had a strange day today. I’ve moved my photos to the MacBook and wanted to add keywords and get them organized but organizing over 7,000 photos takes a considerable amount of time. I’ve only just finished and it’s way past 8pm.
I had other plans too. I wanted to fix the garden shed as it [...]
The jinx of the Sweep

Almost
Well we almost celebrated Pancake Day yesterday. I say almost because we finished by having a Crêpes Party with savoury and sweet crêpes. In the end there just wasn’t the time to get it all ready and to be honest my wife and son prefer savoury “pancakes” to sweet ones.

The Tree Surgeon

It’s going to be a long wait
I got a great gift from my son-in-law today! A USB Christmas Tree. I’ve always wanted one and now I do. It’s going to be a long long wait until I can plug it in again though. It’s cute and fibre-optic and glows all colors. I love it.
Bathroom sink
We have a bathroom cabinet with two sinks. One of them has been giving trouble for over a year. It takes too long to drain and although I’ve taken a plunger to it in the past that has only given a temporary respite at most.
I’m not a plumber and in the past my track record [...]
Clement weather
It’s exceptionally “warm” in Geneva for the time of year and this has unusually consequences. I read this morning that there is a knock on effect on heating bills for example and in the garden the Viburnum is in flower and you can just “sense” the increase in pollen counts. David our son is allergic [...]
Clematis in flower
Clematis

I rushed out of the house the other day to take a few photos in the garden and of this Clematis in particular. We are encouraging it to climb on the garden arch in front of the house. This was the only sunny time we have had since it started flowering just [...]
