Here is a pic of Trevor and Violet just after their wedding on Saturday. It was a wonderful day and their hospitality was terrific. I had a great time and also learnt that Elizabeth, my ex-wife, also got married to someone she met before meeting me over thirty years ago so congratulations to Elizabeth and [...]

Jumpin’ Jack Flash
I’ve always been a Beatles fan rather than a Stones fan. I have most of the Beatles CDs and I only own one Stones CD (Their Satanic Majesties…) which I quite like incidentally.
Our national supermarket chain “Le Migros” is running a competition where the prize is two tickets to a concert they are giving [...]
Annual event
It was my father in law’s birthday earlier this month and as usual most of the family got together for a meal yesterday. My brother in law recently acquired the running of a restaurant in another part of Geneva so naturally, but for the first time for this annual occasion, we went to his restaurant.

Kitten?
That’s what I call a misleading title
Something weird happened while we were in the UK. As usual we landed at East-Midlands Airport, near Nottingham, and went to pick up our rental car to drive to my parents in Mablethorpe.

Happy Easter
I hope you are enjoying a long weekend. Here in the French speaking part of Switzerland both Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays so I have days off until Tuesday.
Have a relaxing time!

It’s voting time again
I’ve mentioned it before. We have to vote many times each year on various topics and the next voting day is next month. There are three subjects. The first is for or against establishing a State run Health Insurance system (For years there have been a multitude of competing Health Insurance companies). I might [...]
Almost
Well we almost celebrated Pancake Day yesterday. I say almost because we finished by having a Crêpes Party with savoury and sweet crêpes. In the end there just wasn’t the time to get it all ready and to be honest my wife and son prefer savoury “pancakes” to sweet ones.
I guess I’m displaying my pancake [...]
Pancake Day
My daily (well almost daily anyway) visit to Chippenham Blog - which is a great place to visit by the way - led me to a post mentioning carnivals and street happenings in Chippenham, UK, the town where I was born.
Deep in the post our hostess mentions “Pancake Day” which I remember with fondness [...]
