Party time!

Not me, or almost me, I could say. Yesterday evening our neighbours entertained around 100 people in their garden with a five piece orchestra and two singers.
To be fair they did invite us for “a drink” but we understood that it was an alibi for the evening. It went well actually because in the early [...]

Proud

My son David has really been working hard and studying more than he has ever studied before. He got his end of term results for his German exams Monday (written and oral) and he passed brilliantly and was top of the class.
Isn’t it great, when you really work hard, to be rewarded in this way. [...]

Scooterless

I sold my scooter last week so I am now relying on Public Transport. I hadn’t ridden it since the beginning of last Winter anyway so I’m quite used to it now.
In fact I’m happier because I can feel the relief of my wife who was never really happy when I was on it and [...]

Scotland : Let’s go interactive

I got a bit bored with the Scottish Tourist posts. It didn’t feel right. If, however, after looking at the pics, you have a question or two that comes to mind don’t hesitate to ask me for an explanation. I’ll deliver.

A little quiet around here isn’t it.

Exams

This year I am also a member of the Coordinating Committee so [...]

At the Scottish Border we stopped off to see what was happening and came across the Border Piper. He is there every day, he says, and plays for the visitors. He plays really well actually and of course you can purchase his CDs which we did. A good colleague of mine had asked me to [...]

Scottish Tales (1)

After breakfast on the morning after our flight to Newcastle Airport we took our hired car up the A68 to Edinburgh. Traffic was light and we had the GPS so the trip was agreable.
When we got to Jedburgh it was time for lunch so we set off to find a restaurant. At one end of [...]

Happy birthday Jennifer

Jennifer is my wonderful daughter and it is her birthday today. As we are just back from Edinburgh here is a Scottish Rose inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This ties in quite nicely with her birthday present.

Happy birthday ma chérie!

Back with tales to tell

We got back home yesterday evening late. Even though our EasyJet flight was 45 minutes late leaving Newcastle Airport the pilot (aided by a strong tailwind) landed us at Geneva Airport only 10 minutes behind schedule.
We had a terrific holiday in Scotland and there is much to be said. I’ll get the pics downloaded both [...]
