Photo Challenge 3.2

Written by wyn on March 7, 2004 – 1:42 am

Following on from the last post here are some pics of the local transport system for your viewing pleasure. I wonder how many urban cities have ticket machines in the street?

This post wouldn’t be complete without a link to the Local Transport Companies website of course! Here it is in it’s English version.

Tomorrow I plan to show you the trams, trolleybuses and buses to complete the subject.

Again, I must say I am highly impressed by the quality and efficiency (not to mention the beauty) of the Swiss public services (such as your phones and now your transportation). Completely different (and quite a bit better) from anything we currently have to use in the U.S. Simply amazing, I have never wanted to travel so badly in my life. (smile). I suppose now I am motivated to save up the $5 thousand dollars it will cost me and check these things out for myself in a few years! Again, my deepest thanks to you Wyn!!

I have to thank *you* for participating and sending me out and about. I had great fun taking the pictures and composing the posts.

I look forward to future challenges!

Wow again top notch! How do they appear on the inside Wyn? Ours our getting dirty and run down, people don’t take care of them. How is it there?

  4. Kim Says:

Hey Wyn; I have an idea for your next challenge. How about fast foods! McDonald’s, Burger King, Coke or Pepsi! Do you have those and if so, I wonder if they look the same as ours do.

If I get around to driving to Sedona again (about an hour away), I will take a photo of the world’s only pair of teal Mc’Donald’s arches! ;)
The town of Sedona, AZ decided that a big gaudy pair of ‘golden’ arches wouldn’t fit in with their scenic local decor, so the only way the town would allow McDonald’s to set up shop there is if they had low scale (small in size) ‘teal’ colored arches. After about a year of stand-off, McDonald’s finally caved in. :)

The rest of the place is much as Wyn said, no different from any other.

    Wyn what a great idea!
The pictures look great! :) May I request some pictures of the countryside?
    Have a great day!

  7. Wyn Says:

Kim, your wish is my command but I can assure you that apart perhaps for the seating and interior decoration there is nothing more like a McDonalds than another McDonalds and I have visited many around the world.

How about tea-rooms and coffee shops or outdoor terraces?

  8. Kim Says:

Great idea Wyn! Let that be the theme then - food and drink! LOL
