Disillusion asked me to take pics of everyday objects like telephone boxes. I took her at her word while out and about the other day.
If you ever wondered what phone-boxes looked like in Switzerland here you can find out. They changed a few years back and you can now use the electronic phone book, send emails and short messages. There are a lot less than there used to be due mainly to the increased used of mobile phones. I guess this follows the same pattern as in your country.

Hi Wyn!
I think Disillusioned is a she, and the next round of the photo fun she was referring too is out now (at my site). Would be great if you want to participate!
Really think you’ve got a nice blog, by the way.

Wow!! GREAT photos. I must say, Switzerland is highly more advanced when it comes to public communication than we are over here in the US. We have nothing like the electronic phonebooks as you do. Unfortunately this is due to the extremely high vandalism rate here in the States; public phones are usually vandalized within one day of being installed. We’re just lucky to have a functional paper phone book attached with a metal cord (if the book hasn’t been ripped out which is usually the case) to use. I hate it. I’m more than a bit envious.
Thank you for the lovely pictures Wyn!!

I have to agree with Disillusioned - Canada has nothing like that either! You’d be lucky to find a pay phone. Ever since the ‘cell’ phone has taken the world by storm, the pay phone has been vanishing bits at a time!
